This compact boardroom table was built by Woodify Canada, one of our featured Canadian furniture makers, for a client who wanted a live edge centerpiece without committing to a full 8–12ft table. At 6’8″ x 3′, it’s sized to work as a boardroom table, small conference table, or statement dining table — a flexibility we don’t see as often in epoxy river builds, which tend to be sized for larger rooms.
What makes this one stand out is the slab itself: maple burl is prized for its swirling, unpredictable figure, which means grain-matching around the epoxy pour takes more care than with straighter-grained species like walnut or oak. The live edge inner profile was left intentionally irregular, and the black epoxy river was poured to follow the slab’s natural line rather than a straight or symmetrical channel — so the finished piece reads more like a wood-and-resin sculpture than a standard table.
